About Premalaya

Who We Are

Premalaya Social Development Society (PSDS), meaning “Temple of Love,” is a registered non-profit organization founded in 1994 by Rev. Dr. A. Isaiah.

Premalaya is committed to serving with compassion, dignity, and dedication to uplift rural and urban poor communities, marginalized groups, scavengers, women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable sections of society.

Through its social development initiatives, PSDS strives to empower disadvantaged communities, promote equality and human dignity, and create opportunities for individuals and families to build safer, healthier, and more sustainable lives. Its work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves love, dignity, justice, and the opportunity to live with hope and self-respect.

What We Do

Our work spans several areas, each designed to address a specific gap rather than offer short-term relief:

• Children Home — residential care, education, and protection for orphans and semi-orphans
• Healthcare — medical camps, health awareness, medicines and spectacles, and cataract surgeries in villages, slums, and cities
• Education & Skill Development — keeping children in school and improving learning outcomes
• Savitribai Scholarships — scholarships that let deserving students continue their education
• Shankar Narayan Library — a community library nurturing reading habits and lifelong learning
• Relief Operations — emergency manpower and material support when natural calamities strike

Premalaya Social Development Society is registered under:

• Societies Registration Act, Government of Tamil Nadu
• Section 80G, Income Tax Act of India
• Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), Government of India

Our Approach

• Community-centered. Programs begin with what a village tells us it needs, not with a plan written elsewhere.
• Long-term over episodic. We stay with communities across years, not campaigns.
• Partnership-led. We work alongside local organisations and volunteers who already have the trust of the people they serve.
• Dignity and inclusion. Service is offered without discrimination of caste, creed, gender, or religion.
